It's no surprise to many that Sarah has been dubbed "Sally" for her obsession with food and particular nature. She's been known to order extra sauce, always on the side. It's a good thing that she came across her own "Harry" who can summarize in 55 seconds his love for her.
But it's hard to summarize a relationship that has spanned a third of our lives, and in true "When Harry Met Sally" form we got off to a slow start. The early years had some awesome highlights but also were sprinkled with very sporadic dates, some misunderstood relationship statuses (silly Facebook!) and even a six month break up.
Why do we bring this up on our wedding website? Because it's what made us who we are - unique individuals who were trying to figure out who we were while staying true to ourselves in our own, odd way.
And those early years are what made us stronger apart, but also brought us together into the couple we are today.
So what about the middle years? Well, we were busy building our careers, buying a house and just having fun being twenty-somethings.
And then thirty hit. And we STILL were not ready for marriage. We took some amazing adventures, both near and far. We spent twelve full days sightseeing across the pond and wanted to spend more time together. Shawn saw Sarah's magical "Disney Side" and didn't run.
Somewhere in that time we realized that our independence was a critical part of who we are, but that we are strongest when we are together. So we decided: Let's both be independent, together ...
And now where are we?
We're in the chaos of wedding planning (which isn't as fun as everyone says it is) and before we know it this time of transition will be a distant memory.
We are very excited for the day when we finally get to say "I Do" in front of all our friends and family, and start the next chapter of our lives together. The first step will be a really awesome party with delicious food and lots and lots of dancing. ☺
And then we will look back on all this and reflect.
And then we will look forward to continuing our story, and are glad you can be a part of it.

If there is enough interest, guests staying at these hotels can take advantage of shuttle service between each location and the wedding reception.
For out of town guests, both hotels are located right off I-88 roughly 30 miles west of downtown Chicago. If traveling by air they are about 28 miles southwest of O'Hare International Airport (ORD) and 34 miles northwest of Midway International Airport (MDW).
Although we are a little nervous about the thought of saying goodbye to our independent living, we are very excited to begin a new home together. (Of course, Sarah is not sad to say goodbye to her hand-me-down, cracked plates from college ...)
For now we'll be residing at Sarah's townhouse, but stay tuned for future updates and adventures.
In the meantime, below are ideas for some of the material items that would be great additions to our new home.
We believe home is wherever we're together and that our foundation is firm because of you - our family and friends. We realize not everyone will be able to join us, but the journey to celebrate with us is the best gift of all.
Thank you always for your love and support!
